Sh@ring College Life Experiences {Fourth Ye@r (2018-2019)}

Now, finally, in this post, I will be sharing the college life experiences during the fourth year of my college life( officially hmm but technically not), but especially for me, it was an amazing experience.

As soon as we make the transitions from the 6th semester to the 7th semester, there are a lot of questions that come into the mind of college students. I will try to re-iterate those questions

How to get an internship?

Now, finally, the placement season begins, so we need to learn aptitude, reasoning and other kinds of stuff.

Whether we should focus on the technologies or learn the basics of computer science subjects such as- Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Networks, Database, etc.

No, we gonna want to do preparation for higher studies, because few of the friends are interested in this., but literally I want to do it because they are doing?

My answer to the above questions:

Do what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
In other words,
do try to align your goal with your passion always.
Yeah by following this thing, there will be many instances when you will be secluded, but don’t worry as long you’re enjoying what you’re doing.
Now it’s about my fourth-year college life, so I will be sharing only some of the instances (not all):

  1. Got 2-month remote internship in a cybersecurity startup (May 2018 -June 2018)
  2. Got 2-month full-time internship in a CERT- impaneled organization (June 2018-July 2018)
  3. Joined the full-time internship, but left the internship in between because I was selected for the internship @Serverguy{https://serverguy.com/} & Breeze {https://breeze.io/}.
  • Internship: 2 months { June-July 2018 }
  • Trainee: 4 months { August- December 2018 }
  • FTE: 1 month { January 2019 }
Note: If you’re thinking about how I have done the full internship and job while being in college, then, in this case, please feel free to DM me.

Team @ServerGuy @Breeze ( Our trip to Bir Billing )

But this trip was too roller-coaster ride for me, because a 2-hour delay in the journey, may stop me from giving the final semester exam. { 7th-Semester exam}
But special thanks to the Arun sir, Sahil sir, Zeeshan sir, Jaya Ma'am, and other members for all the support and guidance they have provided me during my tenure @Serverguy & @Breeze

While all these things were going well, then I got the opportunity to work in a company completed focussed on cybersecurity. Literally, here I was more responsible to convert all my knowledge that I have learned during the past few months, to implement the things from scratch.

Do's

Start scorching the internet, during the 6th semester itself for the various internships. There are a lot of platforms available for the same example: Linkedin, Hirist, HackerRank, Hackathon, etc.

Be specific about the fields, in which you want to do the internship. Usually, what I have done, I usually make an excel sheet for finding the companies who are working in the domain, then moving ahead I tried to contact the respective members for the internship application.

Try some apps such as meetup, Eventbrite, etc, which help a lot to be a part of like-minded people and provides ample of opportunities.

Don't wait for the last minute for the opportunities to knock on the door, just try to prepare it beforehand.

Don't

Nothing to add in this section, because I think everyone has capabilities to decide what is good or bad for him/her? ( No conflicts please)

Have a nice day !!!

Thanks for spending your precious time reading the post, but do me a favor if possible, if any of my connections do have any stories/experiences to share with their fellow, do share the experiences. It helps a lot for other members to avoid the mistakes that have been already committed by us.

How to hack Google? Google Dorking ( aka Google Hacking ) is a technique used for the purpose of filtering search results, in order to get concise (required) information only. Mainly it used for following purposes: To search for websites, having some vulnerabilities. To gather information restricted to a particular source (here source may be people, company, technology etc.) To do reconnaissance (i.e Information gathering), used frequently by cybersecurity professionals. Let's take some examples: 1. I'm interested in reading content about google hacking (then how I can search in google) 1.1 google hacking 1.2 "google hacking" 1.3 filetype:pdf "google hacking" 1.4 filetype:pdf "google hacking" after:2019 1.5 Now, if we're familiar with topic (here google hacking), then we should know about the most common website to search the content Common Google Dork's keywords: site:  Used for the purpose of restricting the search to a particular website...

Sh@ring College Life Experiences

“Smiling wins more friends than just frowning” @@@ Do you want to know how the life of common private engineering students is like? If yes, then in this series of blog posts I will be sharing my college life experiences during four years of my engineering. There are a lot of mistakes and learnings, that may help a lot of college graduates to learn from the mistakes and restrict themselves in committing the same mistake. Why these blog posts? I always strive for the concept of  Sh@ring @nd C@ring {@@@},  so I always believe in sharing the things that may help a lot of teenagers ( college going students) like me to learn from the mistakes that I have committed during my college days. Motivation to read the series of blog posts? Why someone especially the college-going students should read this blog post instead of spending their precious time in learning some new technologies ( such as Docker, MEAN stack, MERN stack, DevOps, CyberSecurity, etc.) Simple answer? Don’t want to comm...

Sh@ring College Life Experiences {Third Ye@r (2017-2018)}

     If you’re the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room So if you think of yourself as the smartest person in the room, then it will be a better option to change the room. As soon as the third year of the college start, there were a lot of questions coming in my mind : Should I follow someone, who is preparing for other competitive exams (such as GATE, CDAC, etc) How to prepare me for the off-campus internships. Should I leave doing competitive programming? Follow the things that I always love to do i.e doing multiple things at a time?  Example: 2 hour: Competitive Programming 1 hour: Data Structure & Algorithms Free Time: DevOps, Hacking, Learn Bug Bounty  At the last, I have decided to go with point 4, the decision may vary from person to person depending upon its interest. We all know that most of the  engineering syllabus in the private engineering college is outdated , but please remember that the in-depth understanding of th...
